Destiny is a practicum student in Forensic Psychology from University of Houston-Victoria. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Kennesaw State University. Destiny is originally from Shreveport, Louisiana but moved to the Atlanta area of Georgia during her adolescence. In college, she provided mentorship to students with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Upon graduating, she provided behavioral health treatment, based on Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS), to children and adolscents at a psychiatric residential facility.
Destiny's clinical training has included work with children, adolescents, and adults of varying developments and cultures within multiple settings. She has experience working with nuerodevelopmental disorders, anxiety, depression, childhood sexual and physical abuse, and more. Aside from her clinical experience, she also assists in research focused on understanding the perception of children in the justice system.
Destiny enjoys dancing, acrylic painting, and taking care of her plants. She loves reading fiction, watching documentaries on social justice issues, and spending time with friends and family. She is committed to exploring mental health and treatment outcome disparities among marginalized populations.
