Dr. Salim Salim

Provisionally Licensed Psychologist

Raised in Oklahoma City, OK, Dr. Salim earned his Bachelor’s in Psychology from the University of Akron in Ohio, his Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Prairie View A&M University in Texas, and his Doctor of Philosophy in Clinical Adolescent Psychology from Prairie View A&M University. His therapeutic experiences include helping individuals across the lifespan who encountered difficulties that were impacting several aspects of their lives (e.g., social, academic, vocational). He has experience helping individuals with severe mental illness including but not limited to Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Major Depressive Disorder, Posttraumatic Stress Disorder, ADHD, Panic Disorder, and more.

 

Dr. Salim details his passion for working with adolescents and young adults, assisting them to manage the emotions associated with transitioning from adolescence to adulthood and “adulting” expectations and behaviors. Additionally, Dr. Salim shares a desire to help couples and families. He has extensive experience helping married couples develop strategies for dealing with difficulties within their marriages. Also, he has extensive experience helping parents learn and develop good parenting strategies.

 

Dr. Salim believes in work life balance. When not working with clients he enjoys spending time with his wife and adult children. He is a self-proclaimed “gamer” and finds enjoyment competing with others on board games, video games, or even athletic games like basketball, tennis, or golf.
