Serena Sanders, M.S.
Clinician and Doctoral Candidate
I’m a PhD candidate in Clinical Psychology who works with clients throughout the lifespan, from young children to adults, though I have a special passion for supporting children and families. I believe every person’s story is unique, and my role is to create a space where those stories can be explored with curiosity, compassion, and openness.

My therapeutic foundation is drawn from psychodynamic therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and play therapy. These approaches help me understand the deeper roots of emotional and relational patterns, while also allowing space for creativity, playfulness, and tailored interventions. I’m deeply committed to meeting each client exactly where they are (whether that means providing a gentle, reflective pace or engaging in more active, solution-focused strategies, or anything in between), always adapting to fit their needs, strengths, and goals.

In addition to therapy, I conduct psychological assessments that bring clarity to complex challenges, guiding treatment, academic planning, and personal growth. I view assessment not just as gathering data, but as an opportunity to help clients better understand themselves and move forward with a sense of direction and hope.

Beyond the therapy room, I have a deep passion for technology and am fascinated by the ways it can be meaningfully integrated into mental health care. I’m particularly interested in the intersection of psychology and emerging tech, such as digital tools, AI, and brain-computer interfaces, and how these innovations can enhance therapy, improve access, and support people in new and creative ways.
At the heart of my work is the belief that healing happens in connection, whether that connection is between therapist and client, within a family, or through the innovative bridges we can build between mental health and technology.
