

Shequita Peters, M.S.
Practicum Therapist
Born and raised in Vicksburg, Mississippi, Shequita Peters earned her Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Jackson State University in 2015, where she developed a strong foundation in understanding human behavior and justice. In 2017, she furthered her education by obtaining a Master of Science in Juvenile Forensic Psychology from Prairie View A&M University in Prairie View, Texas, deepening her expertise in psychological assessment and the intersection of mental health and the legal system.
Currently, Shequita is pursuing her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology with Walden University, where she is honing her skills and expanding her knowledge to better serve individuals in need of mental health support. Shequita’s career as a Psychometrist spanned seven years, during which she administered, scored, and interpreted a wide range of psychological evaluations under the supervision of licensed psychologists. Her work involved assessing individuals for neurodevelopmental disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), bipolar disorders, and personality disorders. Through these evaluations, Shequita developed a keen understanding of how various psychological conditions impact an individual’s life and well-being.
In addition to her evaluation work, she has a strong focus on providing individual therapy, where she employs collaborative problem-solving techniques. Shequita works with both adolescents and adults to help them identify their personal strengths, overcome challenges, and improve their overall quality of life by fostering resilience and emotional well-being.

Outside of her professional life, Shequita enjoys gardening, reading, tackling DIY projects, traveling, walking on scenic trails, and spending quality time with her family and pets.
